What
can this Kidd do for me? (performance/keynote information)
Let’s say we were going to bring in Kevin
Kidd to perform for our children – what should
we expect?
Kevin’s performances are appropriate for
children from 3 years old to 3rd or 4th grade.
Children younger than 3 enjoy the music but may be a
little young to enjoy the entire performance. Shows
are filled with music, storytelling, movement, and interaction.
Typically Kevin will choose one theme on which to base
his performance and the dialog and costume will center
around that day’s topic.
After a few “get to know you” songs,
Kevin will introduce his friend Imaginary Larry.
Larry always finds himself in a situation that relates
to the theme. So Kevin and the children will discuss
how to best deal with the problem and then sing a song
on the topic.
Moving away from the theme they will sing something
a little crazy only to come back and address the day’s
subject again a time or two before the performance ends.
At the close of the show, the children will
have, learned a song about the theme, discussed appropriate
behavior, sang some silly songs, and bounced like a
kangaroo.
